The Secrets Behind IMPD Detective Michael McWhorter's False Police Reports

April 30, 2023

The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will no longer file charges if is his name is on the Report

Indianapolis Detective Michael McWhorter bad cop

Detective Michael McWhorter had been an IMPD detective for quite some time and apparently his record was impeccable. He had solved numerous cases and gained the trust of both police officers, prosecutors and citizens alike. But recently, his integrity has come into question by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.

It all started when Detective McWhorter was assigned to investigate a case and provided a Probable Cause Affidavit that had substantially misleading information concerning an alleged confession of a suspect. Detective McWhorter also omitted pertinent and potentially exculpatory information from his report.

The Prosecutor's office grew suspicious that Detective Michael McWhorter wasn't being completely honest with them about what happened or who may have been involved in these crimes. I have to believe this is not the first time his reports have been misleading but for whatever reason this definitely caught the eye of the prosecutor's office that this may be a bad cop.

Detective McWhorter's alleged misconduct is so severe that the Marion County Prosecutor's Office will no longer file charges if he is the detective that wrote the report. Furthemore, they have provided a letter to Deputy Chief of Police Kendale Adams of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department describing his misconduct.
