Gold Nuggets on a scale

This is The Nicholson Nugget: the official newsletter of the Law Office of Mark Nicholson. You can subscribe by clicking here.

New Office

In this issue: It is official. We have moved. Attorney Tamara Rogers moved into our previous office. She practices in the area of Estate Planning. So, if you need someone to help you with your estate, please contact the Rogers Law Firm.

Trials

We had multiple trials scheduled in July but only one did go. Associate Attorney Madelyn Smith was Lead Counsel and this was her first jury trial. It was a criminal case and she did very well. The jury ruled in our favor and the client was released after spending almost two years in jail.

Still Growing

Things got really busy over the last two months and we needed to add to our law firm. My little sister, Mary Nicholson, and law student Amiya Reina were added to our firm. Amiya's bio is in this edition. We will have Mary's in another edition of The Nicholson Nugget.

Sponsorships

We were able to sponsor another race car. Go Miller Racing!

Pediatric Speciality Associates

Children often need an array of services to assist in the developmental process. The first three years are pivotal times for the child's body and mind. The body is growing and changing quickly, and their minds are developing at an exponential rate. Giving your child access to therapy services earlier on could prevent the need for therapy while in primary school. If you live near Indianapolis and need therapy services for your child, you should contact Pediatric Specialty Associates. Pediatric Specialty Associates is exclusive because it offers therapy services to children in their own environment. The therapists will travel to you to provide the help and resources your child needs in an environment they are already comfortable in. In addition, the services are individually focused, focusing one-on-one during the time they have with your child. The natural environment and individual focus give the child a chance to become vulnerable and open with the therapists. They incorporate and work closely with First Steps, Indiana's early intervention program, helping children in their infant and toddler years. The office is located off Rucker Road on the Northeast side of Indianapolis. The business has been in operation for over 20 years and has continued to stay in the family. The original owner was Donna Holtz, who passed the business to Brad and Cynthia Holtz, co-owners for the past three years. The family dynamic keeps the business thriving.

Cynthia Holtz graduated from Indiana University in 2009. She is familiar and comfortable with First Steps because they employed her as an Intake Coordinator before becoming co-owner of Pediatric Specialty Associates. She is essential to the company because she is fluent in English and Spanish and understands French and Portuguese. She allows the office to open its doors to many more families and while allowing accessible communication. Cynthia says her strong suit is offering resources to families.

Her husband, Brad Holtz, also graduated from Indiana University, where he obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He is the son of previous owner Donna Holtz, so growing up, he was heavily involved and active in the family business. He and his wife Cynthia were thrilled to have the business passed down. He currently helps the business operate in day-to-day activities while also practicing sports medicine at a local office.

Pediatric Specialty Associates provides services for children the age of three years and younger. Anyone can make a referral! Do not hesitate to call or email their office. The contact information is all located on their business page under the Contact Info section. They are always accepting new clients and are flexible in addressing their client's needs. Currently, they are also accepting applications for therapists. If you or someone you know has experience in pediatric therapy, strives to provide the tools and resources to help the developmental process, and loves children, you should apply by contacting the office.

Why is Indiana criminal defense and personal injury attorney Mark Nicholson called the Battery Man? Because his first criminal jury trial was a battery case. The case was called the Big Buford Battery case. They charged his client with throwing a big Buford sandwich at the manager through the drive-thru window. Then, his client went through the drive-thru window and allegedly battered the manager. It was all captured on video.  The verdict: Not Guilty! His first personal injury case was a car accident. He views car accidents as a form of battery. One car hitting (battering) another, although generally unintentional.
