November 2019, issue 2

This is The Nicholson Nugget: the official newsletter of the  Law Office of Mark Nicholson. You can subscribe here.

November has started off busy. Last month our client's criminal drug dealing case was dismissed so we didn't have a jury trial. This month, our client's strangulation case was dismissed and we helped free four other clients from jail. On the civil side, we defended our client against someone abusing the system to sue her for money she didn't owe.   When the Plaintiff saw our client appear in court, represented by the Law Office of Mark Nicholson, he told the judge he wanted to dismiss the lawsuit.

This month marks the end of the semester for my law students. They will get their final exam over Thanksgiving Break, per their request. It was fun and fast semester this year. We had plenty of guest speakers and I thought they all did very well.

Also, this month we are going to have a random drawing to give away a $25 gift card. All you have to do is complete the crossword puzzle and email it back to us at [email protected]. If you win, we will email you and schedule a time for you to come to our office and pick up your prize.

Why is Indiana criminal defense and personal injury attorney Mark Nicholson called the Battery Man? Because his first criminal jury trial was a battery case. The case was called the Big Buford Battery case. They charged his client with throwing a big Buford sandwich at the manager through the drive-thru window. Then, his client went through the drive-thru window and allegedly battered the manager. It was all captured on video.  The verdict: Not Guilty! His first personal injury case was a car accident. He views car accidents as a form of battery. One car hitting (battering) another, although generally unintentional.
